Adult Indoor Kayaking Courses
Generally every fall, and in the new year a indoor adult lesson program is offered for a cost
of $175 for five 1.5 hour sessions. These sessions are on Friday nights from 9-11 pm with the
first 1/2 hour being theory.
All equipment is supplied and the course takes one from the basics of paddling
through to preparation for outdoor paddling. After the first session part of each session will
also work on bracing, self rescues and the Eskimo roll. Participants must be comfortable under
and above water.
Adult Outdoor Kayaking Courses
In the summer, we offer a 2-1/2 day introduction to kayaking program (cost $175 includes club
membership). Its starts with a Friday evening session in the pool, then Saturday outdoors on flat
and moving water giving students a stong understanding of the basics, and Sunday is spent on a
class 1+ river (using the Simonette River) to get a feel for moving water and to practice your
newly found skills.
I'm a beginner, and I would like to know if kayaking is for me.
We would be happy to expose you to the wonderful world of kayaking.
Winter Pool Sessions
Approximately every two weeks on Friday nights from 9:30-11 pm at the Leisure Centre swimming
pool, we allow people to see how fun kayaking really is. Brand new paddlers are welcome to
come and try kayaking. There are often many experienced members attending these evenings, so it is
a great opportunity to see what it is all about. The fee for this session is $15 if you do not have
your own equipment, and $12 if you have your own gear. We do allow for two drop ins before requesting
a membership.
Summer Club Trips
During the spring/summer/fall weekends we are outside running river trips. These trips vary in
difficulty and for the present we cater to the entry level paddlers. Typically through the
paddling season the difficilty of the trips increases, as the skills of our paddlers increase.
Scheduled trips are on posted on the club schedule and
inpromptue trips are posted on the online forum.

How much does it cost to kayak with the club, and is there a membership fee?
Session Costs
Every club does have fees, of course we try to minimize the overall cost for kayaking as we do like to see new members to the club. Fees pay for storage, lifeguards, pool time, equipment, and club events. A circulation of fees is required to maintain the clubs current status. Below is a breakdown of the fees required. NOTE, indoor pool fees vary if you have your own boat or if you do not have your own boat.
